First Pres. Kid's Klub is offered for children in grades 1-5 and meets on the third Sunday of every month (Sep-May), with a finale event in June. This is an opportunity for children to play, have fun, and experience God's presence in their lives. On special occasions the younger children are invited to participate. These events include an Easter Egg Hunt Party, a Halloween Party, and various service projects.
Youth Fellowship Groups
Two groups meet most Sunday evenings for a variety of activities
including fun and games, programs for discussion, mission projects,
and worship. Each year the groups attend retreats, conferences
and engage in a summer mission tour. We strive to meet the needs
of youth in partnership with each other and in our surrounding
community with the Holy Spirit of God to guide us.
Junior High Fellowship includes
youth in grades 6-8.
Senior High Fellowship includes
youth in grades 9-12. Every summer the senior highs take a week
long AIM (Adventures in Mission) trip and attend the Youth Conference
at Montreat, NC, with over 1000 Presbyterian youth joining together
in daily fellowship, mission, bible study, and recreation.

Lunch Bunch meets the third Thursday of the month from 10:45-12:45. Thirty to forty-five persons enjoy fellowship, devotions, speakers, games, singing, and of course delicious food.
Serendipity Groups
Relational groups of 6-12 people meet regularly in someone's
home or at church. The groups offer a time of prayer and sharing
and the application of God's Word in their lives. They study
and play together, support and encourage all persons in the group.
Just
Flicks Series
The peace committees of both First Pres and Central Christian offer a
lineup of 8 movies for 2007-2008. This is our second season.
NEW FAMILY CLASS OCTOBER 3
Life Pact Group (Living In
Faith Everyday, Parents and Children Together) will be starting October 3 at
6:30-8:00 pm.
This group is for all parents and will explore how we as parents can share
our faith with our children to build our relationship with Jesus Christ.
The group will also have time to share joys and concerns about being a
parent and how we might support and pray for each other. This class
offering is part of the work that Cindy Wakeland is doing for her Doctorate
of Christian Education Program through Columbia Seminary. Parents will be
contacted and more information will be forthcoming.
Manly Men of 1st Pres - 7:00--that's
a.m.-- in the Friendship Room
Gather with the RAMBOs (Reformed Adult Male Bible Organization)
each Thursday morning in our continuing study of the Bible.
We'll be tackling the stories of
Samuel, Saul, and David. Newcomers
welcome!
Women's Bible Study
This group meets at 1:30p.m. on the third Monday of each
month in someone's home or at church, and uses the Presbyterian
Women's Bible Study.
The Bible Study this year is Jonah and Ruth.
Miracle Workers
First Pres men's softball team.
Women's Night Out
Once a month, women gather at one of our restaurants for
fellowship,discussion, and good food.
Avon Movie Club
This group gathers every third Friday evening at 6:40 p.m. at
the Avon Theater in downtown Decatur to watch a movie and then
go out for dessert to discuss.
