First Presbyterian Church offers two worship services each Sunday morning. The 8:00 a.m. - An intimate service meets in our newly remodeled chapel. The 10:30 a.m. worship in the sanctuary offers a service rich in music and includes an anthem by the Sanctuary Choir and a time with the children. This service blends traditional and contemporary worship. Pictures, text, and lyrics are projected to the front of the sanctuary, and the traditional printed bulletin is available, also.
On the third Sunday of the month the Praise Band and Praise Singers lead the worship music.
We celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month and on Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve.
On the first Wednesday of every month at 6:15 is a Taize' service, a contemplative service that includes simple, repeated songs, candles and silence.
The church has special services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve.
Two Sundays a year are designated as Youth Sunday when the youth of the church plan and lead both services.
Each February in the past, we have put together a different kind of worship service. We've had services based on The Titanic, the musical Big River, Harry Potter, Peanuts comic strip and Mardi Gras.Child care during our worship services is available for children through second grade in the newly remodeled nursery. Hearing aids and large-print Bibles and bulletins are available. Ramps and an elevator make our church accessible to everyone.
First Presbyterian Church is blessed with many talented, dedicated musicians who share their talents generously with our congregation and add special beauty to our praise to God.
